I came to horse riding much later in life than most people - I had been having lessons and hacking out for a few years but I was bored with school/hire horses and decided to buy my own. First, I looked for somewhere to keep the horse. The Manager at East Herts offered me all the help and support I would need, there simply was no competition. EHEC won by a good few lengths.
Finding the right horse proved a lot harder, although I was a beginner I thought “how difficult can it be to buy a horse? So off I went, on my own……. BIG MISTAKE. The first horse I bought didn’t work out. The Manager came to the rescue, she found a more experienced buyer and then started looking for something more suitable for me. Under EHEC ’s watchful eye I have flourished with my new horse, Poppy, we’ve even been on holiday to Norfolk and galloped for the first time!
None of this would have been possible without the support & guidance of the manager and all the staff at EHEC….. I will always be grateful to them.

I’d like to say how grateful I am for the continued support and help whilst I’ve been at EHEC. I have never had any reason to find fault with the care and handling of my horse, Maddy. During her periods of convalescence (after hind limb operations) I could not have asked for her to be in better hands, she was in no way stressed by her ordeal due to the fact that she had such good routine and was monitored throughout and I think this was contributory to her quick recovery post surgery.
I really feel that I would not have got this far with Maddy if it hadn’t been for the help and support I was given by the manager and her staff. Maddy truly has turned out to be a lovely little horse and if I’d been unlucky and ended up at a yard with not quite so much back-up, the story could have turned out very differently – EHEC can definitely take some of the credit for that.
I would most definitely recommend EHEC to anyone looking for a first class livery yard.

Choosing a livery yard for you and your horse is always a big decision. At EHEC, I don’t have to worry about the welfare, care and fitness of my horse. With great facilities and the best in care and service, I always feel 100% assured that my horse is looked after in every aspect. We have super turnout, great riding surfaces plus a friendly and supportive atmosphere. I travel extensively with my work and East Herts offers me complete peace of mind.

I have been shoeing horses at East Herts Equestrian Centre for 3½ years. During this time, I have come to know the yard Manager and staff extremely well. The yard is very well maintained and professionally run.
Problems with horses are picked up immediately and made known to me if they affect my work. The manager liaises extensively with vets and myself with regards to foot problems – she is extremely experienced, this in itself helps to maintain an excellent standard of horse care. I would highly recommend EHEC to both competitive and non-competitive owners.

The best move I ever made
East Herts Equestrian Centre is a 5 star hotel for horses. If you love your horse and want peace of mind, East Herts is the place to be. The stables are airy and spacious and we have all year turnout in well prepared fields.
The staff are friendly and efficient and will always help and advise you. I no longer worry when away from my horse, because I know she will always be well cared for if I cannot get up that day, or at any time I am away. The welfare of the horse is their main concern.
The yard is always clean and tidy and the amenities are second to none, and I always enjoy my time spent on the yard.
I would recommend East Herts Equestrian Centre to everyone.

When I found out that my partner had a new job and I had to move my stressy, difficult young mare from Spain (where she had spent her life and had previously been ill-treated) to England, I was filled with dread. I researched 30+ yards via the internet and telephone and eventually decided to fly over to visit 7.
After discounting the first 6, from the moment that I walked onto EHEC and talked to the Manager, I knew that I had found the right place. The tranquillity of the yard is incredible – the horses are all totally chilled out and it really has the feel of a smaller yard. The facilities are 5* and the care that each horse is give is phenomenal. They really are all treated as individuals and all their individual habits and foibles are both known and dealt with calmly and professionally.
I wouldn’t say that the move for us was totally plain sailing…… my horse arrived two days before me, leaving the manager to cope with a neurotic horse that she didn’t know, without me being there. She had lost a huge amount of weight during her journey and was predictably difficult to handle. The manager was calm and unflustered, worked out a feed programme and soon settled her into a routine.
Since being at EHEC the change in my horse is dramatic. She now looks amazing (better than she ever did in Spain) and is 100% easier to handle and ride and that is all down to the help and advice that I have received from the manager and her team. I cannot thank them enough.
